- ok, and you think this forum runs on a P4 platform in the back end of nowhere? In fact, it needs multiple servers in multiple locations [backup servers] - tell you what Tym, let us know how much you could host it for? A few pounds per month is something you have in mind, eh?
Also, what about the other running costs for the forum? You think show banners and flags are free?
You stick to Photobucket then - just don't ever think of showing your car on this site in a Members Motors thread

task merit 2 write a report stating how an engineering drawing of your choice would be used in industry. describe the path the drawing might take and explain who would use the infomation in the drawing. you should explane why this particular drawing is suitible for the purpose it is being used

customers design
to a rough sketch
back to customer
design (draw it)
check it can be made
confirm with customer
appropriate creation departments
fabrication Machine shop etc
assembly department
checking department
paint shop
customer with item
bear in mind this is a merit

Engineering drawings in our place are taken quite seriously.... If i told you exactly what they showed I'd have to kill you..
But.... try this.....
The drawing office uses an overall Catia model to define the critical dimensions... A scheme would be developed. This would pass through a stress team to ensure the component meets its requirements, and through a weights team so they can calulate overall centre of mass.....
It would go through various configuration teams and eventually fall into the manufacturing planning, where material specs would be defined, and bought out compenents added to an overall bill of materials... Models would be loaded to CNC machines, or given to someone who actually still has the skills to make components... Then they'd make it....
Meanwhile the drawing would be through to the assembly cells who would plan when to fit it to the end item, and what various tooling is required, torque loadings etc.......
The drawing would be passed onto the in service maintenance team who would define what spares would be required througout the life of the item, and how it could be repaired in situ, or how it could be removed in order to replace if it was faulty.....
Using the bill of materials, and the manufacturing systems the drawing would be used to order multiple sets from suppliers, have costs factored in and lead towards the total cost of the end item......
