Hi,

Does anyone have a contact for a Barchetta replacement CD-player. I'd rather keep it FIAT; I don't find the aftermarket units terribly nice. I want to change from the current tape player to a CD since I've now replaced most of my music with CD versions.

A :)

There are lot's of CD headunits listed on the Fiat parts catalogue from £200-£500 and I assume that the later models were fitted with them as standard so I would look at as many fiat scrapyards as possible to find a late B.

If you want the part no's give me a bell.

Fiat never had their own cd for the Barchetta. They simply put in an aftermarket unit when they switched over to a cd (pioneer if I recall correctly). When you switch over you will need to get a fachia adaptor. Ebay and Halfords are your best bet. Model number is available elsewhere on this site. I have a 53 reg and swapped out the cd for a sat nav unit and replaced the adaptor as well so that it matched the Becker unit I bought. (Fiat adaptor was silver and Becker head units are matte black)
I am quite sure no other fiat cd players will fit due to the odd shape of the original radio-cassette unit. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the informative info, high quality stuff.

I've seen the adaptor I guess that's the way I'll go.

Before you go that way check with the fiat accessory catalogues first or the dealer or DTM to see if they know of any unit's as I wouldn't mind going that way myself. The Sony is OK but would prefer original.

Anyone got a late 2003/2004 brochure? as i can't believe they still fitted cassette players in them then.

I have a June 2004 brochure - it is an stock pioneer/sony unit with a custom silver painted fascia adapter which is what was on my 53' reg. I replaced the silver custom fascia adapter with a black one which when fitted looked better with my new (black) head unit. Fish Bros in Swindon told me that the shape of the original unit was unique among Fiat cars but that it might match up with a Lancia unit. I did a bit of research and could not find any matches.
