Fiat 500 OEM Second Hand Radio

Hi

My orignal OEM radio died.

I am buying another second hand radio and need to know how to get it to work.
I have contacted the local dealers and have been told I can only fit a new
unit which they will charge me to configure for the car to recognise.

Please help me to install a second had unit, how do I get my car to recoognise and accept the second hand oem radio.
