I would still like to bleed the brakes after fitting new cylinders as there will be a lot of air gets into the system, it will only need a quick blip after changing out the pipe(s).

Whats the time scale plan for Saturday?

No point... change pipes first, the majority of the system is the pipes. Waste of fluid filling system and draining it again.

Some points I picked up on reading this thread offline today

Cool may also have an exhaust system or at least most of one laying about.
marti155 can you bring this with you as it may solve our exhaust problems, thanks. Also do you know where you are going? PM me or Martyn if you don't

Ok super.

As for other nesesitys for this weekend, to rebuild back brakes a need two long nose vice grips. i would also quite like to see a brake pipe flaring tool to replace the crushed back brake pipe, or we will have to bleed the brakes twice, not a big problem just saves time and effort and brake fluid.

How essential are these and if the answer is yes does anyone else have them?

Saturday mate! @Malfunction is from your neck of the woods andni gather hes joining us too!

Have we heard from him recently?

4)Another query I've just remembered was from Martyn regarding securing the fuel tank and what was required to do so.

Securing the petrol tank would be my next priority while the car is already in the air??? If it's just a case of a few bolts then we could easily get some stock from B&Q/Autosave/Wherever??

Can someone answer that please so we can have the parts in place if required.

Another thing I remembered earlier today (or possibly mis-remembered) was that the hacksaw we bought last time was quite lightweight so if someone has a more heavy duty one it would be good to have it there just in case

Hacksaw and long nose pliers have been supplied this evening ; )

To try and answer yer queries:

Persley is a potential, yeh.. There was definately still that red sei in there last weekend - it's the one we got the exhaust off of. It's on the right hand side. The caliper on FiaSco has a shot piston so we're reluctant to fit for any length of time. It also means moving the car for the purposes of welding etc would otherwise be an issue.

The site - well, there's an external meeting point. Call or text and we'll guide you in. We are trying, if possible, to limit the number of cars on site. We're hoping to start at about 11am but I'm in town tomorrow so I might* be latchy.

I'll pm you my mobily number, feel free to buzz or text when near.

I think we're covered for tools - flaring kit, not really sure if it's gonna be needed this weekend? We still have to weld and coat the floor, which I suspect may require to be done before we fit new brake lines??

As you don't know what time you will be there the best is to text martyn nearer the time and we can work things out from there. Tools etc I'll let someone else answer

And abyss - mucho appreciated. I'm not sure if Marks heading up tomorrow, I know he mentioned he might pop up next weekend. I think there are a couple of flaring kits up here but yeh we'll certainly keep you in mind if there aint :D

For those heading to the fix-it meet tomorrow morning can you be at the car park on Greenburn Road tomorrow morning for 10:30. Postcode is AB21 9EL. The aim is to convoy up and get started by 11 am.

Thanks

AHH right, sorry got u - its the way it said meet @ carpark for 10.30, convoy, then start at 11, in my mind i read that as it was actually somewhere else, half an hour away... doh >.<

Even only taking a few cars it takes a while to get everyone parked up and ready to start work.

Malfunction - if you text Martyn when you're ready to leave Persley I'll head down and meet you at the gatehouse. I'll pm the postcode to you just in case
