Yeh...its no more

Aww I would have had it wired in a safer and better way... gotta have **** for comedy value!! Never mind, I will invest in air dixie horn..

Looking at the pics, that rust isnt too bad.. ive mot'd worse lol

Best course of action like I explained to you martyn would be to get a donor floorpan and for 2 reasons
1) it should be just cut n weld, saving time on having to mould new metal to shape, which the leads me to point 2.

2) going to look a hell of a lot neater

Yeah, well we'll see what happens when we've got the donor up here.

From speaking to Abyss the front of the yellow one isn't complete as is, ie theres no fitted bonnet lights or bumper so maybe we do just continue stripping it once we get it into storage. It's all just gonna depend, I guess.

The perp to receive the new parts is gonna be the killer - dreading the work involved getting new sills fitted up :(

You've seen pics of the car right? how much more comedy to you want :D

Gonna need a rest once it's fixed :D This is proving to be fairly time-consuming but it's all good fun.

You gonna find time to take a look at it next week?

Well pass it my way if you still have it, no promises but I may be able to fix it. :)

Its not braken its just removed, the unit will still function it was the supply that shorted out not the internals.

Then I definitely hope it hasn't been binned!

Not sure entirely. Think it may have been chucked at the very close of play last Saturday.

Anyhoo, moving on.. Stuarty managed to get a look at FiaSco to assess the rust earlier. Seems to think we can carry on working. However, this Saturday we should have another addition making its way into the shed :D

I hate to break it to you but I had a wee look for the horn thingy today and it's not in the pile of parts or in FiaSco so I think it's been chucked. I'm as annoyed as the rest of you but only because we might have been able to sell it at the auto jumble :(

What an evening!

Lets start with a recap. FiaSco has something of a rust issue. My issue I mean theres a ****-ton of the stuff. With the offer of a suitable donor car, I headed with Daryl from Track & Street Grampian in his Transit to go and recover the yellow beastie.

Daryl recently bought lewisp's cento, which was still sat on the back of the truck when we arrived. No problem, we'd be able to just open the car and roll it off the back of the truck - err, no...Daryl forgot the fecking key. Whoops.

A quick drive back to Kincorth and we were able to get into the first cento of the night. Flat battery ahoy, it'd need a run off the back of the truck. Reverse bump starts are always fun, especially when you see smoke pour out from the bonnet. Slightly delayed, and with one slightly down on its luck centos now of the wagon, we headed to the A90. Dundee here we come!

No sooner had we left the lockup had we struck our second problem of the night. The van was extremely low on Diesel. In fact, it appeared to be running on fumes and a bit of hope. To explain, the lock up in question is kinda in the middle of nowhere. Not far from the A90 but far enough from a Petrol station - and we're already running late remember. Somehow we managed to limp as far as Stracathro, where we filled up on hooringly over priced diesel.

Much, MUCH later than planned (an hour or so) we rocked up to @abyss's lockup in Dundee, where we were hoping to simply drive the cento on to the back of the truck and dissapear back home - again, this was to be a case of wishful thinking. I still haven't learned and keep muttering those immortal words 'aye, this'll be a caker'. One day, I'll learn.

Problem #1 - the cars been sat in storage for I don't know how long, and therefore has a flat battery. Daz's jump pack wasn't quite charged either so it was out with the jump leads. A few minutes of tick over and we tried the Cento again.

Problem #2 - at some point, the cars run out of petrol. It's now 10.30pm. It's the middle of Dundee. We have very little battery and even less Petrol. At this point Daz dissapears to find petrol.

Problem #3 - the natives had smelled the intruders. Daz returns with petrol, we spend a few minutes trying to coax the little Sei into life. At this point we're all hoping for some divine intervention, which arrives in the not so glamorous form of Dundee's finest. Blocked in by a battenburg Focus, our questioning begins and our details are taken.

At this point, utterly fed up and with all three of us just wanting to go home we ask the boys in blue for a bit of a hand getting the Sei onto the truck. Thankfully, they obliged.

Daz tried a few fixes to get the car to spark, but to no avail. I'm sure he'll be able to update, but I recall different plugs being checked, a different coil being used but the car at this point will not spark. Fingers crossed it'll be an easy fix but, for now, the car is still on the back of Daryls truck and will be delivered to the lock up tomorrow. On first glance, I really don't think I can bring myself to gut this little yellow abarth. She's a LOT cleaner than FiaSco and, with a bit of TLC, stands a much better chance of gaining an MOT.

Tomorrow is a new day. Bring on the Centos!!
