FiaSco - The FS Project Car

FiaSco - The FS Project Car

Is anyone else following this and just seeing it as 'replace rusty things with shiny things'? Seems easy enough. :)

Heads up for lewisp and msb89

There's a chance some parts ordered last Saturday won't arrive in time for tomorrow. Unfortunately it's the rear brake cylinders and there's no point in trying to get the rear brakes back together without them therefore we are probably going to postpone tomorrow's session until the following weekend
Malfunction - I believe you said you might be free around the 31st. Are you interested in joining us?

Everyone else is also welcome if available and able to make it to Aberdeen

Cheers for the heads up Harper, I unfortuntely cannotmake it next weekend (31st) but will join next time :)

yip still going to pitcaple that weekend so can come over will confirm times later next week :)

Cool - as always, all help is appreciated.

Next weekend the priorities are:

Rebuild the Back Brakes
Remove front coilovers
Securing the Petrol Tank (it's presently held in with tie wraps)

If we can get the new donor car up the road (and that's maybe pushing it) then we can possibly look at starting the front end rebuild - ie new shocks and springs going in.

Even without the donor car here that small list above is achievable. I've already emailed our friend on Ebay about the missing clyinders - interestingly, they say they were posted out on Monday which I reckon is bullshit :( No reply from seller as yet but in good news the rear drums have been blasted and cleaned up a LOT better than they were before. Shiney shiney :D

Is it bad that as the weather is so shite today I'm actually quite glad the shiny things didn't arrive. I have absolutely no reason to go outside of the house unless I get bored

Ill weld it :p were needs welding , ill bring my "shite" machine mart welder up and show you how to weld ...

whats the saying a good workman blames his tools?

I Just can't weld with a gasless welder for some reason, I can gas (Oxy-fuel) weld and Gas MIG weld. Never tried MAG or TIG yet.

Some good progress on the project car, shame about all the hurdles that keep cropping up. It wouldn't be a project car without setbacks.

Shame I am so far away. I'm a mechanic to trade, so could probably help out quite a bit, but I can't afford the 300-odd mile round trips to help out sadly :(

Check out the latest donation to the project from my Gran!

At least now if things go wrong with the car you can all have a brew whilst brooding over it. :D

As a donater does she now get a special colour if she signs up? She has just bought a Punto!

She's had it sitting in the house for ages but never found a use for it so it's yours.

Will let her know haha.
