Oky dokey - parts list.

Will keep this post udpated as and when possible. Some are already on the car or in the process of being fitted, but this will give us as complete a list as we canage.

Parts we has
Rear brake cylinders
Shoes
Handbrake Levers
Front discs and pads
Handbrake Cable (in situ)

Parts we needs
Exhaust
Replacement springs (all four)
Replacement front shocks

Parts we has on order.

It's worth pointing out we have plans to buy a donor car that might well provide the bulk of the parts, but again it might be that some parts are an issue. Those who've worked on the car (and have the neccessary permissions) please feel free to update this post accordingly.

Marti - is it this weekend you're thinking about popping through?

James - will keep you in the loop. We do have a donor vehicle that should provide most of the parts we need but it's not here yet so we'll keep you updated mate. All appreciated tho :)

Ok super.

My anticipations for this weekend would be to get back brakes rebuilt and bleed the system, and have her sitting on her own four wheels.
I has the overhauled brake drums in the boot if the Ibiza ready to whap on.
Due to the complications on the front brakes tho the car will still not be drivable to any extent, however pushing will be fully permisable as we will have a handbrake to yank on now.

As for other nesesitys for this weekend, to rebuild back brakes a need two long nose vice grips. i would also quite like to see a brake pipe flaring tool to replace the crushed back brake pipe, or we will have to bleed the brakes twice, not a big problem just saves time and effort and brake fluid.

Anything else from here on in is a bonus, howvere a brew would be nice

Back brakes are the priority as you mentioned.

I'm aware we don't have all the parts to rebuild the front brakes, but once the donor car is here that will be the next big project - rebuild the front end.

Bleeding brakes - just wondering if we're worth leaving that this weekend? Andrew has the tools to do the brake pipes which we could fully renew next Weekend?

Securing the petrol tank would be my next priority while the car is already in the air??? If it's just a case of a few bolts then we could easily get some stock from B&Q/Autosave/Wherever??

I would still like to bleed the brakes after fitting new cylinders as there will be a lot of air gets into the system, it will only need a quick blip after changing out the pipe(s).

Whats the time scale plan for Saturday?

We're aiming to try and limit the number of cars we take on site this weekend as there's quite a few of us turning up. Rather than flood the place with motors there'll be a meet-up in a car park close by and then you'll all head up in 2-3 cars. That'll mean there's roughly the same number of cars as there were last time which worked out fine

I'm planning to be on site beforehand as I need to sign in and warn security to expect you

OK well ill take car anyway cos ill have tools and tack etc in boot (its like a mobile workshop haha)

I will have room for 4 people into site if needs be, however you must be clean if u want lift in my car in and out, ive just shampooed the seats! so no oily/dusty arses!
