Hello,
I’m having some issues with my Fiat Tipo 1.0 -21 and I’m wondering if it could be related to the camshaft position sensor.

The check engine light is on, and several systems like start/stop, tire pressure monitoring, etc., get disabled. The engine also hesitates during acceleration and feels odd. I’ve scanned for fault codes and got P0016 and P0344. I’ve already checked the oil level and it’s fine.

Do these symptoms and codes suggest a faulty camshaft sensor? And if so, is this something I could replace myself with basic mechanical knowledge and tools?

Some years ago Nissan vehicles had an issue with that caused by worn timing chains giving a discrepancy between the two sensors.
