Hi
Wonder if any one has had this fault on there 1.2 panda before.
I have a 14 plate panda lounge which has started to bring on the eml light while standing at traffic lights for longer than 1 min with h/brake on and in neutral, no warning signs or hesitation but when fault appears the engine speed goes up to 1500 rpm until I turn the car on and off again. Had the code read comes up as P0101 mass air flow or volume air flow sensor circuit range performance problem. Have already changed map sensor and cleaned throttle body still no difference. Any advice will be very helpful.

Hi
Just read your post re the P0101 code, had this same fault with our panda which is also 1.2 2014. We ended up changing the map sensor and throttle pedal as well as throttle body but it was still doing it, in the end I refitted the clutch switch which I had removed to stop the annoying auto rev when the clutch is raised and the problem went and has never returned. Hope this helps.

Hi.
Removal of the clutch switch will cause this if it is not left in the "pedal up" position. If the ECU detects it constantly down then the MIL comes on and engine revs rise. The switch if not removed may be faulty in the OP's case if still in situ or if removed not in the clutch up position.

Is there any reason why removal of the clutch switch causes this? Currently having the same issue with my panda despite having replaced the MAP sensor and cleaning the throttle body

Post 3 really says it. The ecu thinks the clutch is doen and gets confused casung revs to rise as they woukd as you depress and release the pedal. Logical. Ive never found the antistall caused any problems. The trouble is all these things seem to be plumbed in so they affect things in odd ways. Im a bbeliever in leaving htings alone if they are not playing up. Any changes seems to risk some problem or pther surfacing and then you cant be sure whats at the bottom of it. As a matter of interest how long ago was the clutch switch disconnected. Has the proble folowed that or was it OK for some time before?

Thanks for the reply! The clutch switch hasn't been disconnected on my car but the issues are the same as the orgininal poster. I'm assuming the switch might be getting stuck?

Agreed on the not wanting to change stuff where it's not needed. But seeing as we've already replaced the MAP sensor having a new clutch switch in there might be the play if it keeps on acting up

Well its a possible.

I have found oil and mayo in the inlet manifold on one car. Cleaning this as well as the map stopped it. access via the throttle body hole after removal. I only ever treat codes as a guide. Sometimes pinpoint and sometimes not. I would be suspicious of the temperature sensor too. Its integral with the thermostat and not to bad to change in cost or labour. Try searching
eletronic throttle pedal too. Maybe unplug the pedal insde the car as well and replug as its reported to help dick contacts if the other things dont stop the problem. It soubds like a bit more diagnostic would be a good idea
