The fan on the multipla was stiff to turn by hand and didn't work and due to this when stuck in traffic it over heated, I have now got a working fan (spins freely) and fitted it this morning and drove it around to get the heat up then parked at home with it ticking over, up went the heat and the fan didnt come on :bang: does anyone know what i should do next.

Another issue, there are two wires hanging down below the left head light (bottom one) both with the male plugs on the end, iv'e looked everywhere that these would reach and theres nothing there to plug into:confused: wondering if its anything to do with the fan not working but again theres nothing to plug them into (that i can see)

cheers all

simon

you may have already checked but if the fan was stiff it may have blown the fuse

...or burnt out the motor, unlikely though, the fuse should go first.
Try connecting a couple of wires diectly from the battery to the fan connectors to see if it turns.

cheers guys tried all the fuses (had to as i didn't know which one is for the fan, which one is for the fan:confused:)

tried the wire to the battery when the old fan was in but i now have the new fan fitted but still no joy, is there a sensor anywhere for the fan.

cheers again

simon

no peat im presuming the new one's good as the old one was very stiff to push round,....... if no one can tell me where the fan's sensor is i suppose i can wire the fan up so it stays on all the time via the battery

i think the thermo switch ur after is the one on the radiator as it should sense the temp from there ( most car manufacturers do, not all )
only other location i can think is on the thermostat housing pic attached
ignore the turbo being there it was resting there for pics to be taken of it
peace

created another problem now, iv,e pulled a plug out thinking it was a sensor, plugged it back straight away but now i have an engine light on the dash saying go to your garage. God i hate cars:bang: and still havn't got the new fan working.

thermostat housing is at the bottom centre right of the pic
theres black plastic pipes attached and a sensor is fitted too
peace

Have you tried the fuses next to the battery in the little black box, havent got my manual to hand at the mo but the heavier fuses for the car are in there.
