General fan noise

In traffic my Seicento fan starts and sounds life a jumbo jet taking off, after a few seconds it turns off again. Should it be so nisy and should it come on so often?

yes they come on often in trafic but if its very noisy to the point where your questioning it then maybe the fan motor isnt healthy or its touching somthing.
