Fake dump valve?

Is there such a thing as a fake dump valve (ie, a non-turbo's car sounding like its got a dump valve wooohs/phhhst noise??)

Any one?

some clip onto the end of the exhaust

some use a speaker and you can set it off manually or it does it automatically for you

it makes a loud noise and from the inside it sounds like a rattle,or they do on a diesel lol

My air filter makes a quick sucking noise when I lift off at high revs, that sounds like a dump valve - yeah I think im ace :bang:

theres a guy on ebay who sells some he has no pic, his are a little thing that you get from joke shops called an exhaust whisler (sp) thay cost a £1 but the guy gets loads for them on ebay by calling them fake dump valves or something, daryl bought one

Naaah!.... The noise i want is the pressure releasing from the turbo like the noise when a bus brakes.

You can get different types of dump valve- the standard ones on most cars are recirculating dump valves that make no noise or you can also get aftermarket noisy ones, these you can get in diffrent types piston an diaphram type ones not sure of the difference tbh.

I doubt any of that makes sense... but i'll blame it on lack of sleep.

yes, if its a loud pssht then you have a dump valve

Although superchargers sound nice ( The big american ones that is)

Do they have a boost gauge can't remeber off hand??? but if the Turbo PSI drops at the same time as the noise it's a dump valve....

tbh i am not sure - i dont pay that much attention tbh, will have to stop playing music. i thought it was the turbo but having never listened to a turbo before got this car or know what a dump valve sounds like then am a bit confused lol

Next time u see a boy racer in an RS Turbo listen when they shift gear and you can almost gurantee they'll make a PHSSSSSTTTT! (sp.lol) That'll be the dump valve.

The dump valve sound ; sounds like compressed air forced out of a small space = extra power from your turbo
