Throttle body valve waring light?

Afternoon all new to this game, I'm having a problem with with the throttle body valve on my 2008 fiat ducato motorhome? She drives and starts fine and no loss of power but I kept getting the engine management light come on and now it can't be cleared so took it to my local garage (friend of mine) he had a quick look and said it can't be stripped down to clean but it had a sticker on it with a date of 2018 ? So quite new and not many miles driven he found a new genuine part from a dealer so I phoned them to order but the chap there said its a common fault and that the one I have fitted sounds like the newer upgrade with the added extension wiring loom and that I should check this out as some times this can corrode??? So question is has anyone else had this fault ? And how did you over come it? Thank you
