So...

Just headlights:

Full beam + spots:

It's a tad misty out there, but yeah. You get the idea :)

Tried to take one of the front of the car with them on but it didn't really work - so here's one of it from the back.

Thanks for the comments folks - going from 90W of full beam to 200W is a nice improvement - I should've taken one of the full beams without the spotlights, too. Next time...

Only comment is that it idles low with the extra load of the spots - but chances are it won't be doing that much.

The differences in light levels are amazing, but I would be slightly concerned about the effect it's going to have on the battery or more particularly the alternator.

Is there a higher capacity alternator from another Fiat you could slot in there?

Just saying...........................

Sweet, it looks good and all that light is incredible.

One of the thoughts I had when we got Lola was that, the lights aren't that great. (Also my one low beam doesn't work, full beam is full on)
Not bad though, but I live in the middle of the forest and it's nordic winter - the dark times, and there are tons of animals everywhere - some even weighing a ton.
Boars, moose, deer... you name it. And yeah, Im also thinking about adding some more lights.
Those two looks neat I think. (y)

Thanks :)

Did 150 miles the other night cross country and they're a real bonus actually, I'd forgotten what it's like to be able to see what's more than 15m away!

thebiglad - That's a very good point, I've been thinking the same thing. They're 110W total, so about 10A continuous which is pretty severe.

At the moment I only use them when the car's up to temperature and nothing else running (blower, rear window heater etc.) and it seems fairly happy - I think the load is probably about the same as having that stuff on with the headlights.

Higher capacity alternator is a good idea though, I wonder if one from a Punto would work? I'll bag one next time I'm near a scrapyard and see if it'll go on.

Dancingpanda - do it! It makes a huge difference!

see dragonmans thread for alternator upgrade ;) his is running a 90amp one iirc not to mention the most amount of lights ever seen on a panda haha - but did involve some jiggery-pokery from memory, swapping pulleys etc.

And of course his Youtube video's which are awesome ;)
