Technical What's This Warning Light?

Brother in law lent me his 4x4 for a spin round the block.

I was intrigued by dash

But specifically

which my daughter dubbed "the leaking sausage".

Not being at all familiar with the car, could someone tell me what it warns of please?

its basically the engine management light.. it represents a fuel injector.

If it comes on does it mean there's a non specific fault or would it be fuel injector specific?

its non specific.. just general engine running faults. the fault can be read from a 3 pin plug somewhere in the engine bay.. however i have found its usually down to a vacuum leak, the lambda sensor starting to fail (or some other reason for it to start running rich), or the main earthing cable failing at the body connection.
