Why? If your going spi you could use the Panda spi loom and mount the ecu under the dash as original.
What ecu are you going to use?
If you don't use a matching ecu you may have to budget £200+ for a remap.
because the panda ecu multiplug is diferent and is mounted in the car and some of the bits and bobs on the throttle body are diferent so diferent loom also a panda 1108 ecu would not run a 1242 very well
were as the punto ecus will as there was both engines fitted to that car and the ecu was common to both
so if your using 1242 spi
you need either a 1242 or 1108 loom from punto to match the punto ecu there both the same
you need 1108 punto ecu because these are the most common uncoded ones
at that time in 1994 the 1242 was only an auto
and were on earth are you guna find an auto 1242 uncoded anyway so look for 1108
the plugs on both ecus are the same in fact they are the same ecu
it should be easy to find a scrapped 1108 punto s on 94 reg
if you have to go coded as cant find uncoded ecu
you need matching ecu code box key or chip from it and the erial that's it and the plug from the harness cut off going to the code box for you to solder into
then you need to do a little simple wiring a 3 year old could do
the code box needs 1 wire to ecu for signal /earth/permenant live/switched live then plug the erial into it and tape the chip or key inside the arial and hide it in the dash somewhere seperate from the panda ignition wiring
the code box also has one pin for the code light then to earth you can ignore this pin
then when the panda ignition is turned it will power the code box read the code and allow the ecu to start what ever engine you have
remembering again that either 1108 or 1242 electrics will both run the 1242 engine
i do infact have myself a 1242 spi engine loom ecu code box arial and red key if your intrested give me a pm i'll only ask 30 quid for the lot
