Engine mods to a Brava..ideas please.

Hi all
just out of interest and maybe to get some ideas for the future,can anyone post any ideas on engine mods for a Brava that really will make a difference?.I already know theres not much you can do to a Brava..
I'm starting gathering info on interior modding for some weekend projects soon...

Brava or Bravo they are the same power plants except no 2.0 20v for the Brava.

Chip, uprated cams, and custom remap is going to cost bucks - ask Smee, Alan or Yogis.

Not that Smee has done any mods

The best upgrade for a 1.6 is probably a piggyback, supposedly the C&B cams make the MPG REALLY bad.

I have the same.
Short of getting what i mentioned there isn't much else you can do. Induction kits and loud exhausts/manifolds won't help without a doing the cams and then you could get maybe +20bhp or so. Yogis did this with his 1.8 and it added all sorts of issues, although he may have ironed them out by now!(?)

Angel tuning won't touch it until we get a certain number of interested parties so by all means show some interest but don't hold your induction kit!!

that is true i havent BUT i got a price from my mate for everything includding super charging my beat with an extra 75 bhp for 2500 all in

Probably best, adding that sort of power to the 1.6 is unknown territory really. I toyed with the idea of supercharging but I'd only go 130-140BHP max.

With the more commonly tuned engines you have a wealth of knowledge to help you and usually a few nutballs who have overdone it and blown the engine.

One guy had about 130BHP from a 1380 mini engine without a turbo, it didn't last long

The only person to seriously tune a bravo is Yogis. 150 from a 1.8 is pretty good. I don't think anyone has seen a novitec turbo conversion in the flesh.

Dunno been so busy, wife pregnant, now baby was born etc...

The car been starting and running fine, but now we had a recent extreme hot spell down here, and then it starts being funny to start, sometimes perfect, sometimes takes a bit, sometimes takes 2 tries, but hey, starts always hehe Gonna go to get serviced and checked next week and a new remap
