Hi,

Just bought a Marea Weekend 100 ELX Auto from ebay. Its got a full service history, 60k on the clock, is immaculate.

Went to see it yesterday (before auction end) to get the low-down. Its had a recent head gasket replacement and cambelt (i.e on the 9th). All the works accounted for, so I thought 'ok, no problem'.

Went to collect and pay tonight, and the seller turns up in it and says the engine management light has come on.

Any thoughts as to what could have caused this?

if its the 1.6 engine and its running rough with the engine mangement light on you should suspect injectors and coil. there are many posts inthe bravo section about testing the injectors and coil. its worth a shot.
if the engine still runs ok its probably a sensor failure or a wiring fault on a sensor. problems like this can be hard to find, often a diagnostic check will struggle to find the fault. however a diagnostics is cheaper (£30) that replacing sensors, especially if you arent sure exactly whats wrong
