Hi, my passenger side window on my 2006 Sporting no longer works. It was intermittent for a while but now does not work at all. When pressing the switch there is still a click from within the door so something is happening. Is there a likely culprit?

Thanks

do both switches have hte same effect.?
then probably a mechanical fault..,

see the other threads - SEARCH in "advanced" so panda only;)

Possibly the nylon fitting that connects the glass to the lift mechanism has failed.
Looks like a common fault, especially as these Pandas age or the window gets a lot of use.

it is probably not the switch, fuse or wiring, otherwise you would not get a response within the door when you press the switch.

Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to remove the door card. Not a hard job, just a pain.

Those are good sites to find cheap spares from, but it is probably only this that you'll need. This bit clips to the glass and often snaps.

If so, it seems daft to buy the whole mechanism just for that little bit. A Fiat dealer will sell you the nylon fitting cheaper by itself.

Can you hear the motor running in the door when you press the switch? This might suggest that the fitting has come off the glass. Either way, removing the door card is the only way you'll find out for certain.

This part broke on someone's. The window still went up and down, but was a tad noisy.

Not tried a FIAT dealer, but there's some on ebay from Latvia.

Yep - that was on mine, which is how I found out about the mechanism and its weakness!

I just snipped the 'tang' off, because only one of the two 'tangs' had broken. That got rid of the noise. Still works over a year later, but I'm now waiting for the second tang to break!

Started working again this week so left it as is for now. Had a decent morning though, managed to get my boot switch working again by spraying compressed air into the switch followed by some switch lubricant. Also fitted a boot light.
