Technical ECU set query..

Will an ECU set from the Punto 1.1 Litre fit straight into the Punto 1.2 ?

The part numbers are the same IAW 16F E3.

Well it didn't work, not a peep out of it with the above set i paid 50 quid for from the scrappy.

At least it fired and started if only for a few seconds with old set on.

Guess it'll be easier just to scrap the car than chuck good money after bad but can anybody tell me DEFINATELY that the 1.1 L Punto MK 1 ECU set works on the 1.2 L ?

If you end up scrapping it I will buy your front seats off you well just the base as that's all I need, if the ones I have don't fit pm me if intrested

Yes. To work you need the ECU, code box and ignition switch and key from the donor car) although you can use the old key and switch and tape the new key near it to fool the codebox.

BUT, why do you need another ECU? Mk1 ECUs are pretty much bullet proof............

^^ I'd tried everything else, sensors, coils, pump etc but in the end it wasc a blocked exhaust ! chocker block-never known that before.

I posted the cause on my blocked CAT thread.

I wasted a few quid but just glad to get it sorted, i was gonna scrap the car it pissed me off that much.

These scrapyards advertising on ebay are a waste of space, they dont know what they're selling and i dont think all the parts they sold me came off the same car.
