Hi
I keep getting Engine Check lamp on with ECU reporting fault code P112D.
The model is Punto Sporting 1.2 16v, 2002.

After clearing the fault comes back - seems ECU uses a 2-trip logic for it.

Can't find the fault description anywhere...
Could anybody with access to any official Fiat documentation help, please?

What makes you think it is not fiat specyfic code? Do you have access to the manufacturer documentation or something else makes you think so?

OK, so my code reader (that is ELM327 v1.3a) gives a BMW specyfic error code for Punto Sporting.
This BMW code means oxygen sensor issue in a sensor bank 2 that the Punto does not have at all (BMWs have two exausts).

It may be that:

1) code reader or software is crap
2) somebody replaced fiat ecu with BMW ecu in my car (I bought it a couple months ago and do not know its history)
3) somebody replaced ecu software with a BMW specyfic software
4) there is a wiring problem between ecu and the code reader that makes the reader read a non-sense code.

Are options 2 & 3 possible at all?
As to option 4, the reader software shows engine running parameters making sense... is it possible that it gives a non-sense error code but still receives correct data for sensor readings?
