Hi multplarians,
I'm fed up with paying garages to re-set my 03 Multipla 1.9JTD so would li,ke to buy a reader.
I would prefer an all-in-one reader that connects directly to the ECO socket rather then software to put onto a laptop.
I've done a little digging and there appears to be an issue with diesels around the date 2004.
Has anyone any experience or advice?
Many thanks.

Try a u480, I've used this on a 52 plate and our current 55 plate Multi.
Look for U480 on Ebay, they're around £25 delivered.
Works out of the box, no faffing and simple to use.
Cheers

I bought one of these a couple of year back, ver 1.3.
Bought it for diagnosing a fault with my megane.
Dusted it off this morning and used it with the free version of
http://www.fiatecuscan.net/
Worked fine, I had a fault code stored from when I had the dashboard in bits and the vehicle failed to recognise the keycode. cleared that no worries.
Reccomended highly for anyone looking for a simple way of reading codes and live values from their ecu.
For reference ours is a 2003 diesel, older models may not be obd2 compliant.

So what could u by off ebay for a y reg multi as from previous adds they are not obd2 compatible and by all odds the cheap ones don't work

I can't say if older models of diesel are obd2 compliant or not .
To the right of the bonnet release is a plastic cover about 6"x4", remove that and look for a 16 pin connector behind that.
I have read that all fiat models from 1999 are compliant but can't verify that.
A picture of a connector is here.

the image is not of a multipla .
someone else on here may have more info on wether or not your model would be compliant.

It is a diesel so if its not got this plug I'm buggered or is there another way around it on the cheap

I have used fiatECUscan. It is good. Bought a KKL cable off of Amazon for about £10 plus postage. Used my laptop to hook up to the Multi. It will read all parameters and allows you to reset faults stored in the ECU.
The FiatECUscan website was very good with setting up aswell.

this works on my fiat scudo 2001 2.0 jtd wheres others ketp saying read errors .
i think its the u480 youve got to look for.
Generic U480 OBD2 OBDII EOBD CAN-Bus Auto Scanner Engine Code Reader Diagnostic Tool, Orange and Black
