DVD writer question

I'm looking to get a dvd writer for my aunties pc but I can only find ones compatible with windows 2000 and xp!

Anyone know where I could get one for windows 98? or can you get them for windows 98

However, with the PC having 98 on it I would think it might not meet minimum spec or if it does won't be fully able to take advantage of the fastest writing speeds.

Post up the specs of the PC, usually when adding stuff like this to an old machine means time for an upgrade, even with a lot of ram, encoding a movie with a P800 cpu takes 2 hours give or take, so mayeb better to uprgade.

you could just run a milenium 2000 disc thru the computer and have that, you wont loose anything on the computer just a thought
