General Ducato Maxi 180 2017 ignition barrel

Hello, my Ducato had an attempted theft today. Two busted windows and the ignition lock either screwdrivered or centre punched out. Insurers are saying it may be a right off as a new ECU and steering column will be required. Seems a bit OTT. Any thoughts ? Thanks

That does seem odd.
I had a 2014 Ducato stolen.
Because the keys had been taken we had all the locks including the ign changed.
Work was done via our insurers by a small independent garage.
Don't know the cost

No ECU should be needed unless keys were taken
So just new lock barrel and windows

Several options as loads of new barrel and mount combinations, pattern and genuine on ebay ,priced from £25 to £150 , fit your old transponder and transfer the key blades , glass and column shrouds are available cheaply as well as there are a number of late vehicles being broken .

Probably do the job yourself in a morning taking your time with the parts at hand, has the assessor been and had a look yet ?
