Hi all
I’ve searched the forum and can only find topics relating to swaps of VP2 to daiichi or any head unit to aftermarket...

basically i’ve got a deposit down on a fiat ducato 2020 with the new 7 inch u connect Daichi head unit. standard unit, no navigation. my understanding was car play was standard on this model, however after discussing with Ciao fiat, supplying the VIN number, it’s not standard for some reason!! so that’s annoying.

my question - is it possible to use multiecuscan software, similar to fiat 500, to add car play function, or update software, without visiting a dealer?

alternatively i’ve been looking at second hand daiichi units which on the stick label say they have CP&AA on the back, removed from a newer relay or boxer (can’t find a ducato but sure they’re the same)… will this be a straight swap? any need to change any codes etc? if so, any pointers as to what needs changing?

FYI My vehicle has reversing camera fitted too… not sure if this will be an issue, although all units i’ve seen have “RVC” on the back too.

should i be getting multiecuscan or alfaobd for this (and also general future use)

attached photo is my head unit screen showing camera (without built in nav button). second pic is a used one on ebay.

thanks in advance

Hi Josh,
Are you still active on this forum? I've just done an upgrade to the 7" Daiichi unit you describe (with some issues), if you're still here we can compare notes.

I'll receive mine in two days.
I wanted to know if I need to buy new connectors, or if the VP2 ones are sufficient.

Hi Kevin,

You should have messaged me before you purchased!

What spec is your VP2 / van? Do you have satnav, DAB and reversing camera?

OK, so there is a 52-pin connector and 3 (depending on your old radio) coax connectors on the Daiichi 7" unit. The 7" unit fits directly in the space of the VP2, and the electrical connectors are the same - all good so far. BUT there are many issues. My van is a 2017 when the 7" Daiichi was not an option, yours might be different.

I'll PM you, because this message could go on for quite a while!

Hello, are you fine ?

Thank you very much for your reply. (Sorry for my bad English)

Citroën Jumper 2021

My VP2 is ECE DAB NAV, so I have the 1* GPS antenna, 1* FM antenna, and 1 * DAB antenna.
I also have a USB port *1 hidden in the large central box at the bottom.

Yes, if you could explain the procedure for aligning the proxies, and tell me if the speedometer is flashing and if you hear any beeps.

Thank you very much.
