Hi,
I am thinking of replacing the head unit in my Autotrail motorhome as it currently has the Uconnect 5” sat nav, which is rubbish and screen too small.
My concern is losing the trip computer and additional functions which are set through the unit.
I also dont know whether the existing camera will connect with an aftermarket unit?
I have thought whether a newer larger head unit as fitted to the latest ducatos would use these functions?
Any help will be appreciated.

I fitted one into mine (see link below). The trip and mileometer work as normal, the only thing that is out is the clock in the dash (by 8 minutes). It took about 18 months to get 8 minutes out. I guess if I temporarily reconnected the old unit it would correct it, can I be bothered.........well, no. The correct time is shown on the headunit anyway so no big prob. I have a separate screen for my rear camera, however the headunit had a camera input but I didn't use it.

Thanks for the reply Dave.
I think I would also loose the trip computer as this is displayed and controlled on the head unit and not the dashboard.
I have given this some thought and think it could cause issues if I replace the head unit, so I may just look at purchasing a new sat nav instead.
At least I could take this with me, if I sell the motorhome.

Your dashboard must be different to mine (also a 2019), the trip, milometer and clock are immediately behind the steering wheel.

I've fitted an OEM uConnect 7" head unit from a younger van. It has DAB+ (vs just DAB in the smaller radio), apple/android play witk and it fits perfectly and has exactly the same electrical connection.
Some caveats below but basically everything works well, it's much bigger and I'd say more responsive and smoother.
BUT.
You need to add a switched live wire to pin 42 on the big connector.
Without changing the coding with Multiecuscan the mileage will flash and the steering wheel controls won't work.
Everything works, but the rear camera doesn't come on automatically when selecting reverse, it needs to be manually selected from the head unit. Hopefully coding withMultiecuscan will resolve this.
I will be getting Multiecuscan soon.
If you can live with the caveats, mine cost £200 on eBay. A unit from a Ducato, Boxer, Relay or Movano branded x290 will work.
This is what I fitted
