Whilst still off topic, it could be said that Renault have been influenced by Fiat/Abarth in thier decision to resurrect the Gordini brand.
Yeah it's the same idea. Pimp out your history and crap on it for a quick dollarWhilst still off topic, it could be said that Renault have been influenced by Fiat/Abarth in thier decision to resurrect the Gordini brand.
Haha, I can imagineJust returned to Kent from a family visit to Lincolnshire. Very heavy snow the whole visit and my 500 (diesel) didn't put a foot wrong. At one point in Scunthorpe it was the only car to pass a line of stuck vehicles on a hill during in a snow storm. You should have seen them all with their feet to floor and wheels spinning like the clappers while I drove sedately past them...
You're not alone there!! I'd love to it, partly because it's something a bit different, but mostly because I think it's a very useful skill to have!!...I think that a skid pan training should be a requisite part of the driving test and all people who have already passed their test should have to take it too...
As the old saying goes: Growing OLD is Compulsory. Growing UP is Optional :devil:Played about in an empty car park practising skids and hand brake turns - highly amusing and great fun - will I ever grow up![]()
I tried to explain the concept of high gear, low revs to a friend last night, and it was lost on them. I agree with skid pan training, and also motorway and night time driving tuition being compulsory.
For someone who's so happy with your car, you're remarkably defensive about it.
Or maybe you're just a t*t
EDIT: *awaits "UR JUS JELUS OF MY MINT MOTOR" comment*
For the other guy who thinks the A500 is just a tarted up 1.4 T Jet ask yourself why people don't just buy a Fiat 500 1.4 T Jet instead. Silly statement of the year really.
Yeah, spell it out. ****.
Look, I didn't call you a name but if it makes you feel all growed up then carry on.
As for your comment, It's not a them and us argument I'm making.
The Fiat 500 1.2 Sport that I owned was a great car. I still recommend them to anyone who's interested.
The Abarth 500 that I own is a much better car.
That's my assessment as an engineer and driving enthusiast. Call it opinion if you like. You really need to have owned both to be able to talk with any authority on the subject. A test drive isn't enough.

And as an engineer-to-engineer moment, learn the difference between assessment and opinion![]()
Er, because Fiat don't make one.
Couldn't agree more. A 500 Abarth is just a Fiat 500 1.4 T-jet sport so I don't get what the big deal is.
Of course I know that! I was just pointing out that it's all badge engineering.Yea, but they don't make one
Now if they did a stripped out Abarth, with Essesse suspension/wheels (love the white wheels), no A/C, lighter seats, less sound insulation etc (like the Renaultsport cup cars) then I'd be interested
