Door pod speaker help please

Hi, as you can see im new to the forums and im here to ask another annoying speaker dimension question. Ive searched the forum extensively looking for speaker dimensions for the front door pods in a Mk1 punto sporting but cant seem to find any data, can anyone help or direct me somewhere? Also could anyone recommend a good speaker to fit in them, i was looking at the alpine sps coaxial speakers as i have the 6x9 sps in my parcel shelf and it seemed locical to put similar brand speakers in the front.

im selling some speakers which would fit, on ebay but they wont be direct fit, as with all speakers you will have to do some trimming behind because the original magnets are baby.

Thanks for the help! The speakers you are selling are 16cm, will 17cm speakers also fit in or are they too large? I was thinking of getting the Alpine sps 170-a ones, does anybody have any experience of these speakers?

people say you can fit 17cm but i dont think they would fit, just find a set that are 6.5"

I just took my normal speakers out and i see what you mean about magnet size, when you say you need to cut the door do you actually need to cut the metal??

no just the door card and some of the plastic door pod

Thanks for the help guys! One more question though, has anyone actually fitted 17cm speakers into the door pods withoput any problems?

I fitted these with no problems at all, just slotted straight in, although I had to make some extra screw holes

Thanks for all the help guys! Has anyone else successfully fitted 17cm coaxial speakers in the door pods because im really set on getting the alpine sps speakers but dont want to order them and they dont fit.
