think they should come on with your side lights mate, sure ive seen them before and noticed the 3 red strips!

your lights don't work properly. i have the same tech lights,other design (red ones) and the 3 stripes light up. note that the bulbs fitted in there must be 5watts.No I have got rear lights and braking lights at night the braking and rear lights are below the 3 red lines I've circled and the indicators are above them.
This is why I can't work out if the red lines are there just for show or not
