Just buy yourself a cheap digital multimeter and you can check to see if it’s the alternator (which I’d imagine it is) yourself. Very simple test to do

Drive to a friendly mechanic. They'll put a multimeter on batt to check voltage, also when cars running.

Should be around 12.4v-12.6v off. 13.8v-14.6v running.

i have changed fuses
What fuses have you changed, were the blown

MultiECUscan let's you log the ECU battery voltage, what's it saying at ignition on and while running

Here's mine logged

Check the auxiliary belt

Check the battery posts for corrosion

Check the earth lead are the other light correct especially the oil, should be on at ignition on and stay on while the engine starts cranking and go off after a few seconds or when the engine fires up

Check for loose wires to the alternator and from the starter

Then your down to checking with a multimeter

The light is computer controlled and only come on when it detects a fault at startup or senses less than 5.5V

Output should be 14.1V at idle with no accessories or lights on

Sorry Birmingham is too far for me
I can travel to you and ill pay

Ok so if i came to you would you ve able to put on scanner diagnose what it is electrically? I work for a pregnancy loss charity facilities manager nationwide so would love it if you could help and id programme it in to a trip near you if that makes sense.
Ive just had no luck with this car and i brought it as a result of my mom becoming ill i had disability car i just need a genuine car person to take a look i know a little bit but not enough i fear it may ruin a good car not fixing it sorry for the life story but thats why i am so desperate

I going to keep all the information on here as it helps others that go through a similar situation

Thank you for response i have changed cogarette lighter fuse as there was a stereo being run from there it has to be electrical because car starts fine etc and since i pulled the wire out that was on the aftermarket stereo

I take it the battery light wasn't on until the "pulled the wire out"

Is that correct

What colours was the wire

Their were problems with gears also but when i went kwik fit they opened the gearbox area and fluid came out now car drives nice just this issue with electric

Liquid that came out

Was it water from under the windscreen area
No no gearbox oil sorry they over filled it the ones i brought it off
Basically i brought it drove it clutch went they fixed it i paid half and then there was a leak but it was just overfilled they filled it with transmission fluid basically
