General Doc Orange Peel Barchetta project

The B is not bad on its own without the turbo mod, the hood was good and no rust found, rubber all looked in good shape and its got a loads of paperwork. At 66k its all round what you would expect from a B. The only thing I found was it needs an engine clean, some 17" alloys to help the handling and the ARB upgrade kit. The drivers door has been painted so that needs to be blown in again as well as a small crack in the rear bumper. I am not a fan of that colour but in silver (or red LRB) it would be great but thats just me.

With a bit of love/cash and spanner time you could turn it into something real special.

Love to see that power in my B with all the handling mods I have as I think it would make a great little package. (y)

Still no sign of my fuel boost valve yet so sent him an email. Just picked up a replacement trailing arm bush kit. A bit expensive at £36 but I want to get the car back on the road next month so cant hold out for a less expensive one to come along. Fingers crossed I should have my replacement ABS swing arm and ABS sensors soon.

Found out today that all Bs newer then 1999 have a one way fuel system with no fuel return. The problem with this is you cant fit a fuel boost valve onto the car.:(

Anyone know what I can do about this as I want to upgrade my fuel pump soon and be able to adjust fuel pressure while its on a RR?

We pick them up on the 21st next month when we get home from florida. Dont think they will be getting near the b though. I am trading in my subaru on friday and getting a mazda tribute so I will have somewhere to stow them. The girl is the little one at six stone so they wont take up too much space lol.

Hehe - I had to nip over to my sisters yesterday and found an old railtrack Corsa van in their drive - wondered what on earth was going on!

She drives an X5 and he has a Porsche 996 or a Range Rover sport so it was a bit odd seeing a shagged out old van in the place of them, then she explained the logic. They have a Staffy and a Bulldog that were wrecking the inside of their cars so went to the auctions and bought an old Corsa van for a couple of hundred quid to take the dogs to the park and back!!

Sorry Doc, I'll get off your thread now!! :)

If that is the case doc it shouldn't be too difficult to fit a return pipe, is there fittings in the current system for a return line blanked out? if not just a matter of fitting the older style on, you would prob have to fit a new pump mounting as well that will have the return feed to the tank as maybe not such a good idea to drill into the top of the tank ;)

With the ammount of work you do on other parts of the car I think it would be a relatively simple project....
