Hi out there ,does anybody know if there is a way to tell if the chain has been changed ?and at what mileage should it be changed ?

If you don't know the service history of the car, at 100K I'd be tempted to change it (and the associated guides) if you're intending on keeping it.

Not an insubstantial repair.

Whilst you'd normally hear a wearing chain, you'd only really know true wear when stripped down.

It mostly comes down to service history , if it's not been properly serviced on time (I'm talking oil changes predominantly) , you can't rely on anything.

Often UK Cars fail at 90 to 120k

But well serviced company vans can do 250kn on the factory original,

So servicing Is important

Thanks for the reply,no history with the van so I am tempted to change it to be safe
