Hi, went to the dealers this afternoon to inspect the new doby, turned out the rear footwell carpets looked stained lightish grey, rubbed my hand over and got an acidic spell, and a black residue on my figures, I've complained to the sales manager, and when he came out embarasingly for him he got the same residue on his fingers, they was another brand new doby parked next to it, the carpets in that one were fine.
They said it will go in the workshop for another clean on monday, what can it be ?
do you think someone has spilt something in the back at the factory ?
They expect me to pay on monday evening, my concern is that the carpets wont come clean properly, where do I stand ?
My 3 year doby didnt look like that inside when it was 3 years old after it had been valeted

Had they done a 'pdi' on it prior to you pointing out the problem? If so it speaks volumes about their work and customer care.

Don't accept it unless you're 100% happy with it. Once the stealer gets his hands on your money he'll have very little interest in sorting problems out. The salesman will pass you on to the 'service' department who will have no more interest in you than any other customer.

Make it quite clear to him (today if possible) that unless the car is delivered in perfect condition you won't be paying.

Give him a deadline to provide an acceptable vehicle afterwhich tell him you will expect a refund of your deposit with interest (he has been earning interest with your money hasn't he?).

There are plenty of other people keen to do business with you, you hold all the aces in this situation.

finally got the new dobby yesterday, love it, the engine is so smooth compared to the 1.9jtd, and I dont find it under powered, Its amazing that fiat manage to tweek so much power out of a 1246 diesel engine.
It feels to sit higher in the road than my old dobby, have they increased the wheel size ?
I think the restyled front end is much sleeker, and the interior is an improvement, less van like.

My new dobby only seems to be doing about 38 miles to the gallon, this is no better than my old 1.9jtd, is this normal ?
My wife and daughter run 1.3 multijet pandas and get nearly 60 to the gallon

From all the threads that have been posted since the Multijet engine came out, you'll see a gradual improvement in MPG over time. Even in the Doblo section there are a few threads on it. I think it was up to 8,000 miles in one case before the fuel consumption performed at it's best (55 something like that around town) :)
