Morning everyone

Hope someone can help as this is doing my heed in ( had it to 3 mechanics)
Back at the end of April my 2014 Doblo 1.6 van ( 198A3000 engine) failed mot due to emissions.. ( White / blue smoke)

I had it to a auto electrician who reprogrammed the ecu and did a dpf regen he charged £300 for the privilege and did not fix the problem ??
Next i had a mobile mechanic out he said there was a miss fire on injector 1 and the oxy sensor / maf were a bit dodgy ?? so had injectors tested one was faulty so have replaced that one .. problem still there .. so far i have replaced ..

MAF sensor
Oxygen Sensor
Fuel Pump
Injector
oil steam seals
removed and cleaned dpf
glow plugs
EGR cooler
Full service
Only thing that is bugging me is there is oil in the inter cooler not a massive amount but more than there should be so do you think i should be looking at the turbo ?? there is hardly any movement on the intake side of the turbo and fins seem okay .. Maybe the oil seal ?? and help would be very very much appreciated guys.

When I first got my 2010 1.6 Doblo Maxi van with 100k miles it was chucking out loads of blue smoke (burning oil) that was caused by the turbo and I replaced the turbo cartridge and sorted that.
As a test I undid the plastic inlet where it joins the inlet manifold, moved it apart then revved it for a few minutes with a clean piece of A4 paper, it was soon covered in oil. Even after changing the Turbo it took a while for all the oil to clear from the intercooler.
By the way I assume no excessive oil fumes coming from breather pipe to air intake?

Thanks for the info ... i pulled the breather off but no oil coming out .. however I checked the dipstick / oil cap and got some blowby so think something more sinister is going on... will do a compression test too see if its the piston rings ...still hoping its the turbo ..

Hi

Did you have it for a while before this started...

Was is performing its own regens reliably??

HAVE YOU TRIED CLEAN OIL.. ?
Ive been caught out with contaminated oil bpiling off pollutants

Same with oil from the cooler

TBH your garage visits dont seem too worthwhile

Glowplugs should have no effect for MOT emissions... what was the ECU related issue?

After it failed the mot on emissions they recommended taking to a diesel specialist lol ... the previous owner had done a remap and deleted the dpf so he put the ecu back to the original settings which was difficult as van does not have the original ecu ( nightmare) he then did a forced regen and filled his garage with smoke and left a massive black ring on the floor .. in the past 2 years the regen light has come on but i just run it down the motorway .. did a full service before i put it in for a mot with the correct oil etc..
