Had problems with my 120 ps 2007 Doblo going into limp mode due to a supposedly blocked DPF. We have a furnace where I work especially for cleaning these, so we baked it @ 650deg for 6 hours to burn out the soot. After re-fitting and clearing the fault code, it failed after 400 yds driving, so I changed the pressure transducer suspecting that to be at fault, (cow to get at!).
Nope, still going into limp mode.
Well, id had enough nonsense by now and have had the DPF software removed from my ECU for £270 by Devil Developments of Littlehampton. I made a stainless replacement pipe and replaced the wreched thing.
They are a pain in the backside, an example of automotive engineering at its worst. I'm sorry to say, for the automotive industry, its all about ticks in little boxes again, and the consumer has to pick up the tab when it all goes wrong.
Yes the car runs a lot better,
No it does not smoke,
Yes it will pass an MOT,
No it is not a legal requirement on an 07 plate vehicle,
Yes I am very pleased with the result, and refuse to pay an exorbitant price for a component that should not fail at 19000 miles.
They can stick their DPF's where the sun doesn't shine!!!!
