Two of my vehicles are 2010 Fiat Doblo 1.6 vans, but although the pipework is there, they are just before DPF requirements. A 2014 Vauxhall Combo 1.3 diesel I have does, it runs fine but I regularly use DPF cleaner additive with the fuel.
I have had many other vehicles with DPF issues, ideally you need a good diagnostic tool, many on Forum use MES, these should give an accurate reading of the cinder count or state of the DPF, also the pressure readings before and after the DPF which will show if blocked.
If the vehicle is mainly used in short slow speed journeys there is a good chance the DPF is clogged, one of my daughters had this on a 1.6 VW Golf diesel, luckily I was able to fix it by a full bottle of DPF cleaner additive in a half tank of fuel then a 30 mile run on dual carriageway with revs at 2-3000rpm no less, fixed it but after warming engine up fully before the journey.
This worked , but I also noticed engine temp gauge was only running at 1/3 , so engine never got hot enough to allow DPF cleaning to take place normally with cars ECU. So I fitted a new thermostat and engine then ran at 90 degrees centigrade and along with half a bottle of DPF additive every tank of fuel that was the answer.
Basically modern diesels with all the emission contorls are no good around town.:(
One other point I know from a friend who used to work on Fiat Ducato motorhomes is that the DPF pressure sensors was prone to failure causing errors.
