Tuning Doblo Abarth ?

Whilst my 2013 Doblo is playing up, I got to thinking, having had a couple of 500 Abarths in the past, and noting that the 1.3 diesel in the Doblo also came as an option in the 500.... Has anyone done a swap?

I've fitted a Clio 182 angine in a Kangoo in the past which was a big job so I do realise the scale of the job, but in this case I wouldnt expect it to be quite as straight-forwards, I imagine custom length drive shafts would be needed...

I've actually thought about doing something like this with the older shape Doblo ( 06-10 plate )..... My approach would be to buy a crash damaged ( preferably rear ended ) 500 Arbarth or even a Stilo Arbarth and transplant the whole front end mechanicals into the Doblo . Obviously , you would need the ecu and wiring loom etc from the donor car . As you've said , you might need to mod things such as drive shaft length and exhaust etc . Big job , but you'd get quite a Q car at the end of it !.....
