First post hope some one can shed some light on this for me.
I have taken some photos as a guide.
I have a doblo / cargo year 2001 1.9 D base
I have had this since September last year.
Cost me £2995 at the time I have allready had to have cat/exhaust renewed "expensive" and it as developed the following fault.
I have had to book it in at the main dealer to be hooked up to the computer but they cant do this until Thursday morning so I am hoping some of youy Guys& Gals may shed some info on this for me as I would rather be armed with a bit of knowledge so as not to have my pants pulled right down (I am sure you get my drift)
First off glow plug light comes on flashing after start up for a short while.
I have read the threads and the guide book so am aware this is warning be there is a fault somewhere not allways the glow plugs.
The more serious probllem is the van will be fine for days weeks then all of a sudden it will just cut out with no warning.
It will not restart plenty of power but no spark.
If left for 20 mins or so it will fire up and run for a few minutes and then cut out again.
This happened yesterday and I had to leave it and go back in the evening to collect it with a friend following, the van started and was fine all the way home,I have had to cancel work today to book it in at the garage but I did use it as I had to get out It ran fine but it could go at any time.
I have had a look under the bonnet (I am a Plasterer and know nothing about engines) the only thing I could see was some bubbles around 2 of 3 of what I am guessing are the glow plugs "complete guess" I take it this is not normal and could this be my problem.
Once the van is started is that the end of the glow plugs job or do they do something whlst the engine is runninig?
I was wondering if it was something to do with temprature as the van can run a good while before this happens.
forgot to resize pics sorry.
