Technical difference between 1.4 and 1.4ie

so can i fit 1.4 IE transmission on 1.4 with carburetor. is this the same engine but one with IE and other with carburetor?

shouldn't be any difference at all in the gearbox.... but it might not be that simple, it is a fiat lol.

for the gearbox, i did fit one from a 1.6 carb into my 1.6 i.e.
it`s the same, no trouble at all and works perfectly.

1.4 and 1.6 are the same... except some 1.6 transmissions have longer 5th gear but that's not a big deal!

No problem mate, what I have is a big folder of bench repair procedures for various gearboxes, my folder is only parts '21-27' but it's quite helpful anyway

There will be full engine rebuild ones but they are only held by main dealers, I only got this one because a dealer had been liquidated, I bought it off the repo men.
