Does anyone know the name of the automatic gearbox that is in the Regata 85S? I know its a 3 speed auto and it was used in some Volkswagen's I have been told?

Hello mate, lucky for you I got a tip off from a73uk that you were asking about this

I have here info that a gearbox of type 'VW' aka 'V.W.A.G.' or 'AG 4 V.W.' was fitted to the Tipo and Tempra, I assume it was also fitted to the Regata. The only thing is what I have here says it is a 4 speed, or maybe 3 speed + overdrive or something, I'll have to have another look.

Anyway I have the full Fiat gearbox overhaul manual (105 pages) if you are interested? Just send me your e-mail I can send you a copy no problem.

To my knowledge the Strada had the 3 speed VW box at the time, so I`d expect the Regata to have the same.

No probs, I think it's not a bad starting point

Unfortunately I don't know too much about these old models.

Thanks guys those docs don't really mention the Regata auto and what type it is it is a 3 speed transmission i know that much.
