I don't get the relevance of that ....
I think he was meaning that the gene pool is no worse off after the events above ;)

EDIT: oh, wait ...I think that the Drink drive limit was raised because it is a fairly "universal" measure (not perfect by any means!!) of a persons ability to act, and make judgements...

"Three months before, she had been taken to hospital after collapsing due to the amount of alcohol she had consumed."

:shakehead:

When will the message get through, to all ages, that drinking to excess is not cool? If liver disease doesn't get you in middle age you'll probably get splattered by a train or some other moving vehicle well before then. And as usual, where were the parents in all this and what kind of example were they setting...

I think it's because it was the cause of death, something like 80% of people run over after dark are over the drink drive limit, but a lot of drivers cop the blame.

The driver's a hero, one reason being he could still speak afterwards, the second (and more obvious) reason I'll leave to your imagination. Not something you would wish on anyone but some people put themselves in harms way and it's never smart.

13 year old out knacker-drinking? classy

"habitual socialising" appears to be used as a euphamism for "early onset alcoholism" there....

twice drink drive limit aint that like 4 pints?

'pends on the person.
Some old soaks can sup for England - basically topping up their alcohol levels. Although they will be over the limit, they don't seem impaired because they are no different to usual.
For others, they fall over when sniffing the wine gums.

As my license pays the bills etc then I won't drink & drive - simple.
The only time I will have a few beers is when I know I won't be driving for at least 24 hours - I've seen too many pulled the next day when they go back to the pub at lunchtime to collect their motor, still over the limit from the night before.
