General Dented

The Merc we have on lease is a damage magnet, the last dent was also in a Gatwick car park !!!.

Trouble is being a lease car you only get 2 dents for free the rest you pay for, so I will have to get them repaired. I'm saving them up to get them all done at once just before handing it back.

That's no good.. :(

Who's the dent man? I have a major crease in 3/4 panel which happened when I parked in an Asda car-park.

I must have had some premonition because I parked on the end of row... right over the white line on the far end.. so essentially next door had one and half bays to park in.... and they STILL collected my car with their front corner as they turned into it.. :(

Ralf S.

I've had this in the past with older cars, it's nicer in an older car because you get to test the door check strap a good few times.

"Oh, it works"
BANG
"Let me try again"
BANG
"Hmmm, let me try again"
BANG

Doesn't fix the damage to my car, but might make them think twice about about inflicting it in the future. Two wrongs most definitely do make a right in this case :)

Bvrla guidelines allow one dent less than 10mm per panel. Check with your leasing
Co before spending unnecessarily

Just got back today from after spending a few days in Sorrento. You'd be hard pushed to find any car there without at least six major dents and completely knackered bumpers. I like the 500, but why do they always look so much cooler in Italy. Still an amazing number of old 500's running around. 26 degrees in Naples today - back to reality now:(

Oh dear scratched my rim for the first time! Was turning in the dark didn't notice the kerb = ( 1 inch scratch on the edge... I think its time for some chipsaway!

Currently being sorted. Typically, the area is double skinned so options are drill a hole or go for the glue option. I've gone for the latter!

Fingers crossed......

The dent is too small & sharp for the glue to do its thing so went for the hole option:eek:

Again, due to the location (on the exact join between single & double skin) it was hard to get at with the tools.

I ran out of time so hole bunged, liner refitted & booked back in for 1/12/12.

God I hate careless feckers:mad:(n)

Whether the common damage to 500 rear wheel arch is the result of the driver's or someone else's carelessness, I cant help feeling it is mainly the fault of Fiat's "Hippo hips" styling of the rear end of the car. People just don't expect a "small" car to have unnecessary protrusions jutting out from the corners of the body, even though this is becoming a trend in everybody trying to make cars wider and wider all the time....

Ok guys i win idiot of the year award. I was reparking my fathers jeep grand cherokee and reversed into an obstacle; my fiat 500! My question is will that level of damage hurt the suspension or other components than the body of the car? You know what, i am actually thinking of not getting it fixed to remind myself of what an idiot i am for having done that in the first place!

Looks very slight. No damage to suspension etc...
