hi all :) thinking of de cating my car as i want it to sound nice :) haha not after performance gains, i currently have a 0.9 seicento sx with a janspeed backbox.

By de catting my car will it mess with the engine or anything as ive herd it can mess with ur back pressure which can slow you down or somet. can somone please give me a little info, cheers simo

by sound nice, do you mean sound raspy and like its got a bee hive up the exhaust because thats what will happen

imho keep the cat in or get a sports cat and that will give you less problems come mot time

i have de-cat'd a few of my cars in the past and have never liked the sound but thats my opinion if i was you dont butcher your cat incase you dont like the sound once its done

from the one i had on no, it was a previous owners bodge it had bad welding was dented and cracked :(

the pop wasnt a flame more of it running rich, wasnt loud or too raspy but just nice, wish i still had it

my 1242 8v was decatted and spat small white/blue flames on overrun - it wasn't overly noisey either. The flames were only possible due to the ECU i run, and the way i had setup the fueling.

so in short should i de cat my car? will i have any problems by doing so other than mot?, i have a mate than can make me one up and put the cat back on mot time. :)
