General Daytime running lights

Hi there!
I’m having a mare with the drl on my 2015 fiat 500. Passenger side drl bulb had gone so I replaced today, works perfect but the dash is still telling me to check the drl. When I’ve had a look through settings and turned my drl on, the drivers side light doesn’t come on. Turned setting off again. Turn on headlamps and the drl comes on but won’t come on when I turn the setting on for constant. Any ideas?

Are you sure the bulb hasn't failed?

There's two filments3 in these lights


One for the day time running light's and another for the side lights that come one when you turn the dipped beam on

Leave the headlights OFF turn on drl in menu.
Use a type 580 bulb replace both regardless then check, use Osram or other branded bulbs. Eg. https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/osram-580-12v-21w-5w-capless-bulb-single-pack-481770910

My thought... is the bulb may be causing the problem.

It's a T20 bulb with a dual-filament (21W/5W). The 21W circuit is teh DRL, the 5W circuit is the sidelight and only comes on when the headlights are on.

Check that the bulb isn't fitted back to front and that both filaments work. Don't get confused with the high beam, which is the halogen bulb that lives in the same "bumper mounted" lamp, or the dipped beam which is the bulb in the regular headlamp.
