While I was spannering today I found a paper tag down inside the hood mechanism..

L'assegno di linea finale 06-09-00 1614' and a signature.

Losely translated that mean 'final assembly check'

So mine came off the line at 16:14 on 6/9/00.

Anybody else got an exact birthday time..?

Apparently they never finished assembling mine... Where exactly is the tag? Pics? ;)

We all know that BMW owners are anoraks, Alan... :)

A bit of a generalism but most BMW drivers are total :tosser:'ers - I know I was when I had one! Thankfully that is all behind me now, I am no longer opinionated, one minded and or arrogant and don't drive like a total ****!! ;):D

Erm, I shall keep very qiuet on this one:D

:D Sorry Al, on this occasion you are totally wrong - I should know I have had a number of BM's in the past and something about the badge turns you into an instant arrogant a-hole..........................it's well documented, just do a search in Google for BMW drivers!!

Sorry mate but just can't agree with you on this one. Look at this, how could anyone behave like an a-hole driving something so lovely?

Nice trees and bushes. Too bad about that sausage wagon blocking the view :D

Not debating that they make some great looking cars, early M3's, M1, Z8, M6, 2002, Batmobile................fact remains that generally they are driven by arrogant barstewards!!

I am sure that there are a few arrogant b drivers out there but in general we are a nice bunch!

Nothing wrong with Beemers as a car. its simply the nut holding the wheel.

I find 99% of the time the A holes are driving the small ones..316/320 and anything with a diesel in it. Something to do with the performance of the car matching their tiny brain/tiny tackle.

Found no problem with the big fast ones. The driver has nothing to prove and is just as keen to keep his 100k chariot scratch and clunk free as you are.

BUT:

We suffer a lot here in Ireland from the Polish brickies..buy a terminal wrecked M3 or rarely M5 at auction for peanuts as its got no MOT, been smashed and stuck back together with superglue and hammerite etc. Hoon around in the dark with no lights or race each other up the wrong side of the local dual carriageway. Drive somebody off the road and scarper..on a new building site in Germany by tomorrow night.

Hope you are not including me in your generalisation. The 635csi has been owned by me for many years and always driven with great care and consideration for all other road users. I have enjoyed owning a 1602, 2002tii, M5 and a late 325i coupe. My current business car is a 330i. In one respect you might be right, the Beemers driven by prats are probably not owned by the drivers but are company cars or on full maintenance leases so the drivers do not care about them and do not treat them, as you should with any car, with respect. They are just w..kers. When it is your own car, paid with your own hard earned taxed money you look after them and try to ensure that they come to no harm. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. :p

:D

I have had a number of BM's all of which I loved, point was (originally tongue in cheek!!) that most BM drivers are arrogant 'city bankers'.......... ;)

It's a generalisation that's like most things....flawed and for those with closed minds.

When you get cut up by the :tosser: in the bland and forgetfull you think that blokes a :tosser: When you get cut up by someone driving a BMW you think f**king BMW drivers are :tosser:'s There are plenty of :tosser:'s driving all sorts out there and if you Lee changed your personality because of a car then f**k knows? I know that I have never changed personality due to a car, I am the same :tosser: no mater what I drive....:p

:D

Car's do not change your personality but they do alter your behaviour, its a bit like putting on a nice suit!

As a generalism BM's, Merc's and Jag's give the driver an air of confident arrogance (for heritage reasons attached to the marque's I think) - I think the :tosser: to non-:tosser: ratio is higher in these marques as they are a sign of achievement and success, and lets face it every :tosser: wants to make out he is more successful than he really is!

I am afraid that BM's suffer more than the others as once they get over a few years old they become affordable and younger :tosser:'s can then afford them, I am afraid that there are more than just a few young :tosser: in 8 or 10 year old BM's near me
