if the jtd could go that fast why didnt fiat make a sporty jtd, i recon we should hire an air strip and arrange a drag race between a tuned jtd and a 155 hgt with basic mods. i recon i know which would win.

They did they called it the JTD HLX. Exact same trim as the HGT no better. Mines a HLX.

The only reason the JTD is restricted is to keep the emmissions down to get lower car tax and keep group insurance down so its more affordable to normal people.

The HGT is group 15, you got to be stupid to pay thousands of pounds for the car insurance on this car if you have hardly any no claims or if your a very young.

Even the VW Golf TDi's are down powered, capable of achieving bigger and better things. Most HDi's, JTDS and TDi's can be remapped.

Cams (hopefully turbo cams and not N/A cams) and a different turbo and its only added 80BHP? I thought some coupes were running that with pretty much stock setups.

I'd hope the gains would be much more otherwise he has wasted alot of money on the cams. Do you know what make cams he has as C&B only make fast road cams for the turbo lump.

i had a little spin in pauls hgt last night and foooook its quick expecially as it has 18's. oh and it handles bloody bloody well on them Fk's at a 60mm drop! ok its not stupidly fast like my uncles Chimaera 500 or his mates 360 modena but it is bloody fast for a bravo!

realistically i think the hgt may win against the jtd but then thats yet to be proven by lozz and paul having a drag out we will soon see!

Tom he sent off his original cams to Kent and they re-profiled them to whatever spec he told them to. Race spec?

Thats a better size, needs more fuel at the top end

From the looks of the coupe forum they get 300 with C&B fast road turbo cams.

@Ash... i am sure that me and lozz with have a drag soon enough, i am sure the jtd will win but it wont sound as nice the hgt is fine for me...

@Danz... you should be happy with 130bhp out of a 1.8 mate, and as for everyone doubting the power, you have a bloody rolling road, you can not prove it anymore then you already have!

Tom - What makes you say that? 5th injector maybe? It can be controlled to come in at whatever rpm I choose with my new toy

The torque just drops off very steeply before the normal peak power. I would have hoped it could carry the power to 6k. But you've got so much more mid range the loss of a couple of hundred top end RPM won't hurt the performance. How much time do you spend at 5500RPM anyway?

Nah I know what you mean though, I went out in it for the first time by myself since it's been chipped and oh my god! It drives so well, i was always driving it with a passenger yesterday so I never got to experience the full effect of the remap. It drives like it used to drive with just me in the car when I have a passenger now.

I had a call from the technician today to let me know that he had put an extra wire in there for me so that I can fit a shift light, he said if I get it fitted he'll set the best rpm it to come on at (as if racing of course...no need to use it otherwise, for track days obviously )...best part...he'll do it for free because he forgot to mention it to me yesterday, result!

LOL! Toy Do you have the nitrous/boost control feature on that one?

The latest generation of piggybacks will do launch control as well.
