My 20V NA Coupe (same engine as a MK1 HGT Bravo and HLX Marea) on 140k miles visited Rog and Ruben at PowerItalia on friday for its yearly service.
Only done 4500 miles in a year but thought it was due and with Spa track weekend and MOT coming up, everything needed to be tip-top.
I asked for the following to be done:
> Full Service
> Fit my EBC pads (from group buy on FCCUK) and 3G 10GR discs
> Brake fluid change
> Compression test
> Give it a once over for MOT suitability
Figured that would cover all bases.
Compression came back as:
172
170
170
173
170
The ICV was also cleaned.
The car already feels much more reliable in braking (as in it actually stops). The advice received was not to do the fluid with the pad/disc change but I insisted. If there is air in the pipes from the fluid change, I can always deal with this myself later on. With that said, nothing untowards at all has been noticed (apart from a squeek which I'm hoping will go after the pads are bedded in).
Will probably need a new caliper on the rear as the piston was a little odd but I'll gauge that.
By all accounts for a 13 year old non turbo on 140k miles, it's in pretty damn good shape so I'm very happy Rog complemented that the car was clean underneath and in general good condition. Result!
Just proves that regular servicing and TLC goes a long way to preserving your beloved car!
