Well thats a big spanner in the works. Turns out that my flywheel that arrived is only 190mm not 200mm. So therefore not going to have time to get one and have it lightened now. :bang: So think ill just fit the new clutch while engines out and leave flywheel for a few months.

Going off of te search the 190mm fly is from a bravo or punto 1.2 16v.

Will have to see with the induction hose but least of worries at the mo. lol

Right well as much as i wanna cry now the engine is bolted in.

Today we:
Removed power steering pump, alternator, engine mounts, tb, airbox crap etc
ground the engine mount down more
made spacers for the alternator to rest on
Replace the tensioner
Replaced the cambelt
Replaced the clutch and thrust bearing (took 2 hours min to undo one bloody bolt, which had to be angle ground off and new one put on after in the end)
Fitted new plugs and leads
Spaced the engine mount out about 5mm
Replaced water pump
Swapped selector housing over and sealed up
We managed to keep the original Intake manifold, very close fit, but its on. Prob wouldnt recommend as it is sooo tight.

13 hours non stop. Fun Fun

Gonna have a week off the car now as its pushed us to the limit with lining up the gearbox spline and the 1 gearbox bolt. lol

Will get some pics up this afternoon. One thing that really shocked me as i have not seen a 1.4 cinq up close other than thhe uno turbo is how close the cambelt is to the light and how the engine actually rests against the headlight metal fitting. Think i may get a new headlight and find a way of cutting the corner off for a little more clearance. I also havent seen the engine in proper daylight so not sure how close it is at the back. Think its also extremely close to the pipes coming from brake ressevoir. lol. Minnor details though, hardest part is done really. :D

this was it on mine;

i ground that bolt flat else it would've eaten the cambelt

One new engine just delivered, complete with pretty much everything. lol

Photo showing engine mount that the power steering and alternator bolts to. This all had to be removed to attach the mount to

Gearbox mount removed. Certainly chunkier than our cinq mounts.

Selector removed

Power steering and alternator removed

Gearbox removed and new clutch fitted with plate using a metal pole with a bit of electrical tape around the end

Engine mount fully cut down and fitted with spacers, cant quite see the spacers but the alternator spacer to fit the 60a punto one was made using the engine mount corners.

Gearbox off with new thrust bearing fitted

Engine about to go into car. All water pump, cam belt tensioner replaced. Bit of a pose, but had to be done.

2 engine mounts done up, just the last one to go

Getting knackered by this point so photos were the last thing on my mind. lol

All engine mounts were completely covered in sealant and bolt next to cambelt was replaced about a month ago in prep.

Anyway thats where were up to now. :D

Quite some strength in your arms there ;p

Don't forget arc's unique pipe-on-pipe pipe protection system ;)
He had split some spare hose and zip'd it around the one coming from the bottom of the expansion tank, where it runs in front of the engine, near the os light unit, to prevent any chafing.
He had left the tank in the original position however, this wouldn't apply if you plan to move yours and reroute the plumbing.

Am very tempted to copy aaron and move the expansion further back, especially as the battery space looks a bit funny.

Gearox connected up last night, just to check everything is ok. The 6 speed box, clutch 'actuator?' arm thing is at a different angle so using circlip pliers you can undo the retaining clip and slide the arm off. The cinq one fits perfectly.

Might sound funny, but is there a way of telling if we have done something stupid and knocked the thrust bearing off of the spline without dropping the engine down. Cant see through the hole in the top of the box very well. Pressing the clutch in, i can see the clutch move off of the flywheel, but does that guaarantee that its the bearing pushing it and not the arm that moves the bearing, if you know what i mean.
