aaarrrrg, my car is giving me trouble again. The car will only run at high revs and stalls if it drops below 1700 rpm! Soooo embarrassing  I think it must be the tubes within being full of crap! i'll blow throught them with a straw maybe and see how that goes. I had the whole carb in pieces but couldnt see anything wrong. It has been fitted with floats from a spare carb cos the old one managed to bend itself so that the floats wouldnt shut off the valve! Hence the carb flooded. When i say flooded, i mean it literally filled up the whole thing and overflowed  Not as bad this time but similar pig running!
I need it to get back to uni for my exams aswell, tis a pain in the ass
I shall keep y'all posted as to the progress
Cheers

They get tempramental and then when you take them appart they're even more so, I don't know of anyone appart from a specialist who's managed to do one right after taking it appart  That's why I bought a brand new one. There are so many bits to go wrong esp the belows & mixture screws. I wish you luck.

sounds like your idle valve is blocked or the idle cut off jet is either not connected or faulty ooor, you're getting dreaded carb freeze... I've had a lot of experience with these carbs.. mine was running like a dog and after I rebuilt it it runs like new.
When you rebuilt the carb did you fit new gaskets, diaphragms, needle valve? I've had that flooding experience.. Once the floats are off tune just bin them and get some new ones... not worth dicking around with em...

Pull it apart and get a ink cartridge filling syringe and squirt red-ex through every hole.. replace gaskets.. put back together.. its as good as new.. there are not complicated carbs and theres little to go wrong with them really.

Good luck!

Your car is finished. Sell it to me for 50 quid. :D

hmmmm i think it means a bit more to me than that steve! I'm not sure i'd sell for 1million tbh! lol :D

Perhaps i'll have to get a specialist to look at it, "cheaper" is the word that did it(y)

There is a gasket that has some cracks in it, but nothing serious, checked all the bellows and they seem fine. Oh wat am i to do lol.
Sleep is the only answer
I shall run at it screaming 2morra!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

lol

What engine do you have in yours? Becasue if its the fire be it 750 or 999 it will have this carb (32tlf). It makes for a nice afternoon doing a carb rebuild.. I really enjoyed it.
