I replaced my clicking passenger door check strap only to find the new 1 also clicked, i noticed the door pin was worn so i replaced it with a small nut and bolt and tightened it enough to prevent the bar from jumping forward and clicking at the same time , add some lubrication and now it closes smoothly and no clicking, job done . ps i did not overtighten the nut as this would of made the door stiff to close.

Some (FIAT) check strap kits come with a new roll pin, some dont.

If the roll pin is at all worn it is easier to replace it, this will fix the problem 95% of time.

The other 5% will be check straps failing, when you need a new check strap. The mechanism has to be seen to be believed.

Magic how you can get nipples into every thread.

I can recall that the micro filters allowed you to go 3000 miles before engine oil replacement instead of 1500 miles.

One old car had a oil tank with a pedal and you floored the pedal once a week and the tank was plumbed into all the parts that needed oil...

I was too small to see the badge on the car.
